Abby Beaulieu

Head of Operations | Vaughn Sports Academy

Abby Beaulieu is the driving force behind the day-to-day success and growth of Vaughn Sports Academy. Known for her relentless work ethic, passion for the game, and unwavering commitment to young athletes, Abby has become an essential part of the VSA family and culture.

Her journey in baseball began the same way many parents enter the sport — by wanting to provide opportunities for her son and connect with the local baseball community. What started as supporting her child quickly evolved into a deep passion for the game and the development of youth athletes. Abby immersed herself in the world of travel baseball, becoming a dedicated team mom and a constant presence on and off the field.

Abby’s path with Vaughn Sports Academy began in 2019 when her son joined the Boca Raton PawSox organization. It was there that she met baseball legend Mo Vaughn and quickly earned the trust and respect of the organization through her leadership, organization, and dedication to the players and families involved. As the program grew, so did Abby’s responsibilities. She became instrumental in managing team operations, organizing clinics and individual lessons, coordinating events, and helping build the foundation of what is now Vaughn Sports Academy.

Today, Abby serves as the Head of Operations at Vaughn Sports Academy, where she oversees the daily operations of the academy while helping create an elite environment for athletes and families. Her attention to detail, leadership, and passion for excellence have helped shape VSA into one of the premier baseball development programs in the region.

Abby is also a strong believer in player development built on trust, consistency, and long-term growth. Having personally experienced the impact VSA’s coaching staff had on her son’s development, she became even more passionate about the academy’s mission and training philosophy.

Abby’s story is a testament to the impact passion, perseverance, and belief can have within a sports community. From dedicated baseball mom to Head of Operations, she continues to play a major role in helping Vaughn Sports Academy develop athletes, build confidence, and create opportunities for the next generation.

Jacob Josey

Recruiting Coordinator | Vaughn Sports Academy

Jacob Josey is a former collegiate baseball standout whose versatility, leadership, and competitive mindset made him a key contributor throughout his career at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). From 2019 to 2023, Jacob excelled as both a starting pitcher and shortstop, bringing a unique understanding of the game from both the mound and the field. His ability to compete at a high level in multiple roles showed not only his athleticism, but also his baseball IQ, toughness, and dedication to continuous improvement.

During his time at FAU, Jacob built a reputation as a dependable leader and fierce competitor in high-pressure moments. His collegiate career was highlighted by several standout performances, including seven scoreless innings in the NCAA Athens Regional and a dominant outing during the 2023 Conference USA Tournament. Competing at Division I level gave Jacob firsthand experience with the demands, discipline, and preparation required to succeed in elite college baseball.

Off the field, Jacob earned degrees in Business Management and Information Technology from Florida Atlantic University, demonstrating the same commitment to excellence academically as he did athletically.

Today, Jacob serves as a College Recruiter at Vaughn Sports Academy, where he works closely with athletes and families to guide them through the college recruiting process. Drawing from his own experiences as a Division I athlete, Jacob helps players understand what it takes to compete at the next level — from player development and exposure to communication with college coaches and recruiting strategy. His knowledge of the recruiting landscape and passion for mentorship make him an invaluable resource for aspiring collegiate athletes.

In addition to his recruiting role, Jacob continues to impact the game as a coach for high school and collegiate summer baseball teams in West Palm Beach, Florida. His coaching philosophy emphasizes development, accountability, and competing with confidence, helping players sharpen their skills while preparing mentally and physically for higher levels of competition.

Jacob’s passion for the game, combined with his experience as both a player and mentor, allows him to connect with athletes in a meaningful way. At Vaughn Sports Academy, he is dedicated to helping the next generation of players maximize their potential and pursue opportunities at the collegiate and professional levels.

Juan Carlos Pijuan

Juan Carlos Pijuan brings a lifetime of leadership, service, and mentorship to Vaughn Sports Academy. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Juan recently retired after a distinguished 24-year career in law enforcement, where he served as Assistant Chief of Police for the Boca Raton Police Department.

A graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy, Juan has built his career on the principles of integrity, discipline, accountability, and servant leadership. These same values have shaped his passion for coaching, as he has spent more than 15 years mentoring youth athletes in travel baseball, softball, and high school programs throughout South Florida.

At VSA, Juan is committed to helping student-athletes develop not only their athletic abilities but also the character and life skills necessary for long-term success. He believes sports are a powerful platform for teaching discipline, confidence, resilience, leadership, and teamwork. Through positive mentorship and high standards, Juan strives to create an environment where every athlete is challenged to grow, compete with purpose, and become the best version of themselves—both on and off the field.
